I’m Back!

I know I haven’t done a blog post in a really long time.  I also haven’t worked on many model tanks either.  But now I’m getting back into it and I have started some new projects.

First, is the half done Tiger II kit that I started.  This model has been sitting on my desk half finished for quite a while, but I plan on soon getting back to building it.  This kit is a Zvezda 1/35 scale model of the Tiger II or “King Tiger” with the later production Henschel turret.

My camera doesn’t take very good close ups, but as you can see I still have a lot of work ahead of me!

Noelle, it depends on what color I plan on painting the tank. If it’s an American tank from the WWII era the final color would be an olive drab so I would use black as the base color. In this case I haven’t decided what color to paint the tank yet. Germans had a lot of different camouflage patterns in WWII. 🙂 The tan color you see now is just the color of the plastic.

It depends on if it is going to be a solid colored tank or if it is going to be a two or three tone camouflage. If it is a multiple color camouflage then I would probably use two or three coats all of different colors. I usually use paint from a spray can to paint my models.
